So after I posted my recap of our March Campout (read it here) I had a number of people ask me for the recipe to make Cleary’s Cast-iron Cheescake. This recipe was a huge hit with my troop so I hope you will share it with yours.
So here is the recipe:
Ingredients
2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese
2 (8 ounce) packages crescent dinner rolls
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract or almond extract
1/2 cup margarine or butter, melted
1/2 cup cinnamon sugar
Directions:
Bake at 350 degrees, 18 coals on top, 10 on bottom
Unroll one package of refrigerated crescent rolls and line the bottom of the dutch oven (I line the bottom with foil sometimes to keep from burning the bottom).
Mix together the cream cheese, sugar and extract.
Spread over the crescent rolls.
Unroll the other can of crescent rolls and place on top of cream cheese mixture.
Pour one stick of melted butter or margarine over the top and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar mixture.
Bake for 30 minutes.
